Could working from home be the next step in your career?
Wouldn’t it be nice not having to commute to work every morning?
Imagine being able to work without having somebody constantly looking over your shoulder. You could even spend more time with your family, and still be able to do your job to the best of your ability.
Until recently, this wouldn’t have been possible.
I have good news for you.
Things have changed.
Workplace mobility is now an attainable reality.
In fact, it’s at an all time high.
More people are choosing to work from home, or work whilst travelling than ever before.
You don’t need to clock in your hours at the office anymore, day in, day out. It’s now a realistic option we can take due to the technology that is in place.
Now, before you rush off and tell your boss how things are going to work from now on, there are a couple of things that you should take into consideration.
Can your job be done from home?
If you think about it, most jobs can be done from home.
Especially if you work in an office.
Before we had all this technology, everything HAD to be done from the office because everything we needed was there. This is no longer the case.
With the introduction of the laptop and accessibility of the internet, you can escape the confines of the office, as well as the 9-5 work day, and do most, if not ALL of your work from home (or from anywhere else you please for that matter).
Is it right for YOU?
Some people thrive when they’re given full autonomy – others need a more structured work environment. Not everybody can motivate themselves to set aside time for work.
What it ultimately comes down to is, can you still do your job properly?
If you can honestly answer ‘yes’ to that question, then this is something you should seriously consider.
In the past, people would look at you like you were crazy if you told them you were working from home, or working whilst on holiday. This is no longer the case.
If you’ve got a laptop, you can get the job done from ANYWHERE in the world.
Employers know that at the end of the day, the key to keeping top talent in the company is ensuring that they’re happy.
The happier employees are, the more productive they’ll be, and the more value they’ll add to the company.
You’ll notice on more and more job ads that companies are advertising all the benefits that they are offering – one of the main ones being workplace mobility.
This allows them to attract the best talent because talent these days want that flexibility.
There is no better time than the present to take advantage of the workplace mobility trend.
Until next time,
